E-reader white label

White label e-readers under your own brand

Start from a device that already ships, put your logo, software and packaging on it, and keep the engineering and batch records behind the product.

White label, ODM or OEM

White label means you start from a device that already exists and change what the customer sees: the brand, the boot screen, the packaging and the manuals. It is the shortest path to market, but it also means the industrial design and the platform are fixed.

  • White label: rebrand a proven device
  • ODM: develop the device around your product plan
  • OEM: manufacture to your drawings and BOM
  • Same line and test fixtures for all three
  • Design ownership agreed in writing
  • Model choice confirmed against your market

What you can put your brand on

Most of the visible surface can carry your identity without touching the mechanical design. Content and software customisation is done at the same time, so the device a customer unboxes matches the store listing.

  • Logo on the housing and retail box
  • Boot logo and startup animation
  • Default reading app and start screen
  • Pre-installed titles or a content store link
  • Manuals, quick-start card and warranty text
  • Accessory kit and cable labelling

What stays fixed

Being clear about the fixed parts avoids surprises later. Panel, screen size, platform and enclosure come from the selected model; changes to any of them move the project into ODM territory with new tooling and a new validation cycle.

  • Panel type and screen size
  • Mainboard and platform generation
  • Enclosure and mould
  • Battery capacity and charging design
  • Certification base already held by the model
  • Test fixtures and firmware branch

Volume and lead time

A white-label launch can start small. Samples are built against the current firmware branch, and volume orders are scheduled on the same line that produces the base model, which keeps the test plan consistent from the first unit to the last batch.

  • Sample builds from one unit
  • Pilot builds from 50 units
  • Volume from 500 units per model
  • 300 units on repeat orders
  • Samples in 10 to 15 working days
  • Production batch in 4 to 6 weeks

What a launch needs from you

The build is only one part of a launch. The items below are the ones that most often delay a first shipment, because they depend on decisions outside the factory rather than on production capacity.

  • Brand assets in vector format
  • Retail packaging copy and barcodes
  • Destination markets for certification
  • Content rights for pre-installed titles
  • Warranty terms and service route
  • Forecast for the first two quarters

Questions buyers usually ask

Do I need to order a full container to start?+

No. Sample builds start at one unit and pilot builds at 50 units, so the device can be tested with reviewers and early customers before a volume order. Volume production typically starts at 500 units per model.

Can the white-label device run my own reading app?+

On Android models the application layer is open, so your app, account system and store can be pre-installed. The panel driver, power management and system updates stay with the base firmware branch.

How is a white-label product different from a private-label import?+

The device is built on our line with our test fixtures and batch records, and the firmware branch is supported after shipment. A trading arrangement usually stops at the packaging, which leaves firmware and quality issues without an engineering owner.

What paperwork ships with a white-label order?+

Orders ship with batch test records, end-of-line inspection data, and the compliance documents held for the selected model, including CE and FCC reports, RoHS and REACH declarations, and UN38.3 battery transport reports where applicable.
